DEEP receives grant for removel of marine debris left by Sandy
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Marine Debris Program has awarded $752,822 to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for the removal from Connecticut's shoreline of marine debris left by Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.

Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on Monday announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Marine Debris Program has awarded $752,822 in federal funds to the State of Connecticut through an agreement for removal of marine debris from Connecticut's shoreline.

Former Lyme-Old Lyme teacher is new Wheeler associate principal
North Stonington Ryan Chaney, a former Lyme-Old Lyme Public Schools teacher, is the new associate principal of Wheeler High School/Middle School and began the job on July 1. Chaney is filling the spot vacated by Kristen St. Germain, who was appointed principal of Wheeler in April and assumed those duties this month.
