Public safety briefs: One killed, one hurt in wreck
LAFAYETTE COUNTY | An Odessa teenager was killed and another person suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when two vehicles collided in Lafayette County.
Nicholas S. Neal, 17, was driving a 1999 Ford on Missouri 131 at Varner Road south of Odessa. According to a Missouri Highway Patrol accident report, the accident occurred at 7:35 a.m. when the Ford failed to yield at an intersection and was struck by a 2006 Dodge Ram.
Neal was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, a 19-year-old Odessa man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. An update on his condition was not available. Read more
