A group of emergency room nurses at a North County hospital is warning potential patients they can expect long waits and not enough people to care for them if they ever have to visit. On Monday, emergency room nurses at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside said the problem starts at the top.

Emergency personnel from the Oceanside Fire Department were dispatched at 9:36 a.m. to Oceanside City Beach in the 1600 block of South Pacific Street near Cassidy Street, Battalion Chief Felipe Rodriguez said. The department was told that an unconscious person was pulled from the water.

Child Found Dead, Mother Unconscious in Oceanside

The emergency call came in to 911 dispatchers around 7:45 p.m. as a CPR in progress inside a home in the 300 block of Woodpark Way. Oceanside Police say officers immediately started giving CPR to a 22-month-old child inside.

Swimming Hall of Fame Plan in Oceanside Sinks

The city began preliminary talks in January with Florida-based Swimming Hall of Fame Partners, but a deadline for those negotiations ended Monday with no plans to extend it, Oceanside officials said. The project - which would have included a hotel, water park and museum - ran into opposition from community groups such as Friends of El Corazon, which wants the property turned into a public park with just enough commercial development to pay for maintenance.
