Ocean Springs mayor says insurance increases are alarming

The mayor opened Thursday's insurance survey press conference with a dire warning, telling the crowd, "Insurance rates are causing a lot of our homeowners and business owners to rethink about even staying in Ocean Springs." The mayor also added, "It's a tremendous hardship for everyone on the gulf coast.

The Mayor is correct ... insurance companies are thieves who have forced us into paying them more and more and more. Karma will catch up, the sooner the better.

We have been life long residents of the coast but as soon as our home sells we are moving to AL. We can get alot more house because the insurance on a 225,000 is only 1k a year and that's hurricane included. One new neighborhood we looked at the salesman told us everyone that has bought there came from MS it's close enough to comute to work.
