At age 63, Ta-Boo looks marvelous. Sure, like many of its age on the island of Palm Beach, it has had a little work done over the years. More important, its spirit remains as youthful as ever.
Midevening, the bar running the length of the narrow, hearth-tiled lounge is jammed. Sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 on weekends, tables are cleared from a section that becomes a dance floor.
Well-dressed couples, most in their 30s and 40s, dance on the wooden floor to '60s and '70s dance hits: Mony Mony (Tommy James), I'm a Believer (Monkees), Baby Come Back (Player), Stayin' Alive (Bee Gees), Low Rider (War), Aquarius (Fifth Dimension) or I Think I Love You (Partridge Family).
