How much taxpayer money gets wasted defending lawsuits from groups like the Sierra Club and other eco terrorists? We need a law which holds these groups liable for govt. losses if/when they lose a case. Name one thing these groups have done to enhance life for the rest of us? They consistently look at things through their own eyes while wearing blinders and dark sunglasses. I guess anytime they create a crisis, they can hit up their members for more money to give to leadership to spend. With no crisis to oppose, they lose their reason to exist.

Build the bridge finally.
Sheeesh... there are hundreds of miles of river front and the Sierra club thinks giving up 100 yards of it will end life as we know it.

The Sierra Club will never get a dime from me. Sit in the exhaust fumes in downtown Stillwater when traffic is backed up for miles and try to convince me that those fumes are good for the environment or the health of all the people breathing it in. Find a decent cause, Sierra Club. The bridge over the St. Croix river is much needed!!

Wait until a pedestrian trying to walk across the street in downtown Stillwater is killed...is that worth all the money that is being wasted here. Once again the minority gets to make all the rules for the majority!!!!! Sierra Club go away!!!!!!!!!!

The Sierra Club must stop wasting everybody's time and money while commuters and residents of Stillwater suffer and the cost of the bridge increases. The I-94 bridge hasn't destroyed the river, and neither will this new bridge. Case dismissed on summary judgement with prejudice. BANG! Next!

If you know anything about this club ( Sierra Club) you shouldn't even have a need to read the article to know if they are involved... it'll get goofy!

DOT should just say that it's gonna be a giant bicycle-only bridge. Oberstar and the Sierra Club would get it built in record time.

Oh, it will probably kill some Zebra Mussels and carp. Hopefully the entire eco-system isn't destroyed by them being squished under a crane...

Although I'm not 'for' the bridge -- Sierra club is making this more and more costly every time they step in and I just don't agree with their reason.

Build the damm bridge and move on!!

Time is money, 20 years, fighting about that old bridge? Sierra Club, how about getting the junk yards off the river, cleaning up properties that have a visual impact. I can tell you of a few!!!

SierraClubbers are economic terrorists. They should be confined and herbal-tea-boarded.
They are ungrateful losers determined to force everyone else into Loserdom.

Determine the environmental, human, oil consumption, energy consumption, related to the lift bridge as opposed to a new bridge and assess the Sierra Club the cost of NOT building a new bridge.

Build a new bridge that is special in that people will travel miles to just see it, like the Golden Gate. Build the new bridge without piers in the river.

Once the new bridge is complete REMOVE the old lift bridge including the earthen ramps leading to it, I.E. restore the river to its original channel.

They had their day, and they lost. Now they are trying to go back again with some lame technicality. If they actually had to pay for both side's legal fees when they file these stupid objections and lose, it would stop pretty quick.
