It sounds like beating up a drunk is a condoned action in the victim's next door household. I don't believe any respectful parent would condone their child to beat up a defenseless person.

Some parents will back their child regardless of his or her actions. Fools!

I think that no matter where you are a person with a gun does not discriminate if he or she is in Chicago, Oak Lawn or any other area.

Obviously, this teen gangbanger is learning his lovely behavior from his father. The police have publically said he is a known gangbanger and he was recently arrested for beating up "some drunk." The other son died from a drug overdose, but somehow it was the police's fault? Maybe if this pathetic loser of a father had to pay for his kid's actions he wouldn't be in such denial. When the kid ends up shot and dead, this a** is going to be on the news saying he was a good boy and was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Loser.

I do feel bad for the parents of the neighbor as our family has also stuggled with this same exact issue in Oak Lawn with my nephew that is/was a friend of both of their sons. I think they have tried to keep their kids out of trouble but sometimes no matter what you do it isn't enough.

People think Oak Lawn is the safe place it was back when I grew up there years ago. Something has changed there though. I personally know that there are a few kids (including my nephew) that have gone to jail or treatment for hard-core drugs (smoking crack and shooting up heroin) and the ChicagoGangs.org website lists the area where this happened as a past location for the Almighty Ambrose gang (a year or two ago it was listed as a current location). Parents in general need to open their eyes by going online and looking at their kid's MySpace pages - you would be amazed what you can learn by seeing who they have listed as friends. A few Oak Lawn kids had/have gang affiliations right on their home page - free for all to see. Some add themself as a friend to the Offical Almighty Ambrose MySpace page. Some have photos of drugs, guns, etc. Some of these kids actually posted the same photo they had on their MySpace home page (although it was doctored up to cover their mouth and nose with a black mark) on the ChicagoGangs.Org website Almighty Ambrose picture pages. They are no longer there but had been some time ago. I printed it out and confronted my nephew about it. I am personally not in denial but my up-front efforts have still not resulted in helping my nephew - he needs to help himself.

I think that the police harassed these kids so much in hopes that their families would move out of their town. I told my nephew that if he kept his nose clean and stopped doing stupid things that the police would not be bothering him.
