Former Norwood man denied new rape trial
The former Norwood man convicted of rape in 2015 was denied his request to have his conviction overturned due to what he said was a conflict created by his then attorney also once representing the attorney prosecuting him. Andrew J. Regan, 37, is serving a 12-year prison sentence for his Feb. 23, 2015, conviction by a jury of five men and seven women of first-degree rape for having engaged in sexual intercourse in the early morning of Aug. 9, 2009, with a then-26-year-old woman at her Norwood home while she was intoxicated and asleep.
