Afternoon Update a " Hundreds attend Tazewell festival

So now we hear about the festival? After it's over?

I asked on another thread why the Chamber didn't bother to at least provide up-to-date information on their website. A few flyers around town and one advert about the musical entertainment isn't going to draw in people from outside the immediate area.

I thought the purpose of the Chamber was to promote the business of the town. They sure dropped the ball on getting the word out on this one. This town needs to decide if they want to attract the attention of out-of-town people or just keep things the way they are now. I hope they aren't paying somebody to be "tourism" director.

Question about this article - couldn't they list exactly what was on Main Street that was so interesting this year?

A side note - last Christmas the parade was just pitiful, but there was a street full of people. It was held at a time not a single business was open - I don't know why the planners can't do this during a Saturday afternoon when people might actually walk into the 3 stores left on Main Street.

Pitiful indeed, I went to that.
