Moulton ousts longtime Rep. Tierney
In one of the biggest upsets of the primaries, newcomer Seth Moulton toppled nine-term incumbent U.S. Rep. John Tierney in the Democratic primary for the 6th Congressional District Tuesday. In front of a packed room of supporters chanting "Seth" and "All the way" at Salem's VFW Post, Iraq war veteran Seth Moulton thanked his supporters, who he said were some of the only people in the world who thought he could win.

Opioid Overdose Patient Revived with Narcan
On Saturday, Officers Sean O'Leary and Jason Connolly administered two doses of Nasal Narcan to an unconscious man who was barely breathing and unresponsive due to an overdose, officials say. Narcan, also known as Naloxone , can immediately reverse the effects of overdoses of opioid drugs such as heroin, OxyContin, Percocet, Percodan, and hydrocodone drugs like Vicodin.

Storm Knocks Down Trees, Closes Down Park Street
The thunderstorms that hit North Reading on Saturday evening knocked down trees and power lines and caused the closure of a major road. Work crews continued cleaning up downed trees and wires on Park Street West as of 7:15 p.m. Park Street is closed at Park and Concord Street while crews clean up the downed trees and wires.
