A Merrick woman faces a felony charge of driving drunk under Leandra's Law after State Police stopped her Saturday for traffic violations on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in North Merrick, police said Monday.

Residents in Merrick and Bellmore are on edge after the incidents, which involved middle school students being approached by a man in a car and on foot.

The Nassau County Police Department's 1st Precinct is investigating multiple recent incidents in which young adolescents were approached in the Merrick-Bellmore area by a man or men in recent weeks.
