What a police CHIEF... charged with DWI, was that Number 1, 2 or 3? Hmmmm... Can't sweep this one under the rug now can we? It's all fun and games until someone gets KILLED...

I am so disappointed in Jeff. Jeff what the hell are you thinking. You could of KILLED someone. It could of been me. You need to stop and Look in the mirror and get help. I herd of 1 and then 2 and NOW 3 DWI's. Do you have any idea what happens to families after loosing a loved one? You where police Cheif and have seen a lot. You know families like us that have lost our only child. I hope you get the maximum and get help.

Assuming that you are found guilty.
Jackass. You should know better. If convicted, you should be suspended from your duties until you serve whatever sentence is imposed and not be allowed back on duty until you pass rehab and if it happens again you no longer are allowed to carry a badge and gun. You become strictly administrative with no police powers. Get the help you need before you kill someone. If you harm another person while driving drunk you shouldn't see the light of day. I have seen and given testimony when I came across a paramedic who crashed (fortunately didn't harm anyone except himself) because of DUI, I feel no different about a police chief. You both f**king know better. You've seen it. You know. Bill |

Does it really matter now many DWI's Jeff got "NO" the point is that he got it. Yes this makes me very disapointed in him ,as we were to look up to him ,we counted on him as an officer and a friend,But Jeff you should have known better at your age.I really hope you don't become a officer AGAIN, we don't need a drunk for a chief.Just like you have always told people to wear a helmet if you were going to ride a bike and look at what you are doing !!! you better take a real hard look in the mirror.

The chief lost his license for 2 dwi's in Vt. Shhhhh don't tell anyone! The chief is an idiot the same as he was when he stocked shelves at Gould's Storr in Piermont NH before he got a job as a policeman in Haverhill NH. Just like the acc. he had on his bike in Woodsville I am sure he was drinking that day as well!
|
||||
If he lost his licence for 2 DWI's in Vt then I would like to know how thw HELL he got in as a police officer?????????? |

The Woodsville poice chiefs accused offense only produces extreme dissapointment.

wait a minute people are you forgetting one thing yes he screwed up but how friggin many of you have done the same thing and got away with it, just because hes the cheif does not mean jeff isnt human just like the rest of us, he needs help not your damm critizing, he knows he did wrong how many of you can say the same. pray for him dont judge him. my prayers are with you jeff
and your family. |
||||
Well I'am sorry but if he needed or wanted help he would have done that the first time he was stopped for DWI , you are right he is just another human like us ,but I will say if that was you or I we would have be in jail that night and the next morning ,but because he is the chief he is treated different and that I DON"T THINK IS RIGHT AT ALL . |
||||
Really? How many addicts have you known? Denial is a powerful thing, my friend. Most people with a problem--and sort of problem--that they view as shameful will avoid asking for help as long as they possibly can. |
||||
I have worked with addicts !!!!! Yes I will agress with you that denial is a very powerful thing, But when it come to someone to protect us like the chief, I do think he needs help and hopefully this is a EYE OPENER for him . He may not need to ask for help now ,as the courts might have in go to rehab . |

2 Chief of Police of Haverhill, NH has not solved crimes. Perhaps Cecil will solve the crime of Maura Murray's disappearance. |
||||
You would judge him if he KILLED someone ??? |

Why should lend a hand ,when he has not lend a hand to us ,Name 1 thing that he has done for the community ? If it was you or I we would have been in jail, the only reason why he is not in jail is because he is a cop...and he would end up getting beat up in jail . |

1 Second, it has nothing to do with fair. He needs treatment and he should get it. He should be punished if that is required also, such as second or third offense. Ultimately I don't give a shit what his personal problems are. NO more than telling me that someone would be justified shooting his firearm off in a bar because his girl left him. Driving a car drunk kills more people every year than firearms. Bullshit! Let him get the help he needs but in the interim, he should not have police powers, should not be driving under any circumstance if this is repeat offense, and should be suspended as chief of police if he has been convicted. And he should not be reinstated until he has passed a program and has served his sentence if one is given. The hand I am giving is to both him and the unfortunate bastards he might wreck with. Bill |

This does raise an interesting question as to whether we ought to or in fact DO hold law enforcement officials to a higher standard than the average joe.
Not giving a shit what someone's personal problems isn't quite the same thing as not letting that affect your treatment of him. I have all the sympathy and compassion in the world for the chief. Addiction is a beast (and I'm making an assumption based on others' reports that he's been charged with this more than once.) Does that mean I think we should give him a pass? Hell no. It seems obvious that the fair thing to do is treat him the way you would treat any other citizen in this situation. The part about police activity is currently--as the papers state--a moot point, since he's on administrative leave. He's apparently not well enough to resume police duties.(I can only imagine, having heard a rundown of his injuries, when that return might be. I was surprised he was well enough to be driving, period!) I suspect this is one of those times where a little tough love is needed. Sure, Chief Williams might well be a great guy--I've never met the man, so I can't know--but that doesn't mean he doesn't need to stop doing this. What he needs is fairness, and a wake-up, and (yes!) compassion, but not enabling. |

Hearsay makes all of you stellar humans.... just saying.... what makes you think he is not going to take his punishment??..... what makes you think he has had a DWI before... proof?? nope... hearsay.. yup!!!....what makes you think he is an addict just because of a DWI??? none of you know, so before you start throwing stones.... please think about what you are saying.... you certainly have a right to be mad and say what you want because that is what this site is for.... but remember that this is a human being you speak so harshly about and I am sure he lives with much guilt and heartache for what he has done in this situation.....
