You might think you're pretty green driving your Prius around, but you are several miles behind Mike Dabrowski's thinking.
The private inventor has developed a battery-powered, drop-down wheel for his car that allows him to run around town at 35 mph using stored energy - in his case solar. The self-described scrounger is driven by saving money, sure, but more so by saving the planet and its inhabitants now that food and fuel are in competition.
We haven't got time to wait for the auto industry to catch up, he says, which is why he has developed a kit to retrofit his now out-of-production car - the Honda Insight - and has a dream to develop it for other makes and models, including pickups and SUVs.
