I can see more property forclosures coming if these pass. Record unemployment, record deficit spending, depressed markets, this is not a time to increase taxation.

More foreclosures because of a $75/yr increase on taxes? give me a break. I hope the vote is based on whats best long term for the town, and not whats best in the short term. I'm supporting both

I'm confused - why the FD use the closed station in S. Chelmsford Village on 27 for storage? To my knowledge that building isn't even being used anymore.

Enough taxes already. Chelmsford needs to figure it out.

"The Center Fire Station was built in 1952 to serve a population of 10,000. Since the town has grown to about 33,000, town officials say the station can't keep up with the increasing demand for technology and storage space."

Chelmsford's population has been around 30k since 1970. The idea that population growth is a reason for a new station is not supported by the facts.

If we do not have enough room to store all the equipment...maybe we have too much stuff.

VOTE AGAINST THIS DEBT EXCLUSION!

It is time that we stopped all this welfare for the Town Employees. We have a firestaion in mothballs why do we need a new one.
All the big projects on the roads, trash, sewers and infrastructure and most of the plowing goes to subcontracters. The water department is separate. What do these guys actually do besides drive around town drink coffe and play scratch tickets.
Why do they need a new facility for a couple of guys who run around in a truck with cold patch.

what a joke . like this guy was actually going to vote 'yes' until he got a postcard! Hillarious.

There old guys use any reason in the world not to vote for anything, anytime.

In their own little world, washing the driveway down with a hose to past the time.

a no vote will send a mssage to the town to start thinking were thier pay comes from. lets publish every name that is pushing this project so the public can see just who is spending the tax dollers.empty fire houses in town could be used.the price for either project are blown way out .over 10 mil for a block building .get real

So Kevin doesn't like teachers or firemen. The teachers were beginning to feel singled out.

It makes me sad that with all the negative going on in the world that a few souls forget to try to see the good in things. Financially, these make sense. Low interest rates now = Lower payments. Both facilities will need to be replaced eventually, why not replace them when it is cheapest for the town. Put away your hardened fist and open your mind. Some things are worth doing.

I just moved to Chelmsford but looked in all the surrounding towns before here because of the lower taxes. I have yet to see what chelmsford does to justify the higher taxes. It is a great way to discourage people from living here.

vote yes for the new station so the fire dept can store their supplys the right way and continue to serve the town the way they are trained to do. i personally would perfer an engine to show up at my house if ever need be and not be stuck in the basment of the station because the floor crumbled below it.

It's that prevailing wage thing. Non-union labor could do if for half that or less. Same or better quality.
