Police arrested a man Wednesday in the April 14 shooting of an 11-year-old in the face with a bullet that was intended for the boy's father.

A suspect in the North Bellport shooting that left a 12-year-old buy paralyzed surrendered to police and was arraigned Thursday on a first-degree assault charge.

Suffolk County police have arrested a man accused of breaking into a home and holding an 11-year-old boy at gunpoint.

William Harris faces a charge of first-degree burglary. The 20-year-old is being held for arraignment.

Police say Harris broke into the North Bellport home last month, pushing open a rear kitchen window. Police say he chased the boy and his 2-year-old sister into a bedroom, where he pointed a gun at the boy and demanded to know where the family kept its money.
