A gunman opened fire on a moving car in North Amityville, killing the passenger and critically wounding the driver, who Suffolk police said lost control and struck a house.

Joshua Sims, 28, was fatally shot Friday night as he sat in the front passenger seat of a car driven by Alfred Bristel, 27, who also was shot, police said.

Bristel lost control of the car and drove through three white fences and onto the lawn of two houses, coming to a stop only after plowing into a brick chimney and oil tank. Read more
