Sedgwick County shelves Arkansas River access plan

Sedgwick County commissioners have beached a plan to develop 21 access points along the Arkansas River for canoe and float-tube use.
The commission set aside a staff recommendation to adopt the Arkansas River Corridor Access Plan, after about a dozen riverfront property owners objected to it Wednesday.
The commission voted to 'receive and file' the plan. Ordinarily, that would be the end of discussion.
But two commissioners, Dave Unruh and Tim Norton, said they want the plan to come back for further consideration at a workshop. Read more
