Police: Drunk wrong-way driver hits oncoming car head-on

The car was a Geo. Driven by a local ODFW biologist, Casey Deckard, on his way home from work. He's been through a couple surgeries and is in better spirits - though still in considerable pain.

Thank God he is alive and recovering! I've prayed for him each time I think of him. It is difficult to imagine what the woman who hit him must be suffering, since I would really like to see her get "the book thrown at her", but sober now, I imagine she is miserable beyond belief. I try to pray for her, too. It makes me so sad and angry (!) that through someone's wrong choices a life was nearly lost! May God be the one who puts lives back together...

The woman who almost killed this man with her reprehensibly irresponsible behavior is apparently not the repentant type. Before crashing into Casey Deckerd, she crashed into another car a few minutes earlier, hit and run, she could not care less about the people inside but sped on to this much more dangerous crash. If she would have stopped her car after CRASH NUMBER ONE, the SECOND one would never have happened!!! The folks she hit first were in a much bigger, heavier car, and she smashed the side, not head on, hence they were fortunate not to be hurt. The drunk never seems to be hurt either do they? All drunk drivers should get maximum prison time. They destroy lives. How hard is it to call a friend or a cab? Hopefully she has some money so Casey can sue the pants of her, rightly so too.
