Man Arrested In Newington Following Break In
A 22-year-old man was arrested this morning after he broke into a home on Robbins Road and tried barricading himself in a bedroom where a 13-year-old girl was sleeping, police said.
Police say the home invasion was a random act because the suspect, Daniel Bitcon, did not know the victims, police said.
Bitcon, of 45 Hotchkis St. in Middletown, is being held on $100,000 and is scheduled to appear today in Superior Court in New Britain. He is charged with second-degree burglary, assault on a police officer, interfering with a police officer, risk of injury to a minor, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. This is getting totally out of control. The police need to shoot a couple of these home invaders to put a stop to it. I know the bleeding hearts will squawk that these poor deranged individuals have rights and must be protected. What about a 13 year old girl asleep in bed or a couple of elderly women enjoying a cup o coffee. We also need to throw all of these idiots out of the Connecticut House and Senate. They are doing nothing to create a safe environment for the people of Connecticut. All they do is coddle a bunch of out of control maniacs. As they don’t feel they are worth passing bills to protect us, we should make each and every one of them take one home and let them live with them and their family. It will be 10 minutes before they will vote to give someone life for shoplifting.

I oftern stay in New Briain at my best friend's house or at my boyfriend's dad's house. I also used to live in New Britain. I never l;ocked my car doors at night, let alone during the day or morning( sunday mornings i would park my car in my boyfriend's driveway) I thought "this is a nice residential neihborhood with close neighbors nearby, what can happen? I also would laugh when my boyfriend would deadbolt the door even during the day or when my boyfriend's dad would deadbolt the kitchen side door when he left to run errands or go out. I would laugh because I was still insdie the house! They would tell me to lock my car's oors saying you don't knoiw, someone could drive by or walk by see the doors unlock and brak in . Now I know better. There is no such thing as a safe neighborhood anymore. The area in Newington is a nice area, and the area around the New Britain home invasion is as well.If you are not safe in broad daylight at ten in the morning on a sunday or in a nice neighborhood, then just where are we safe?
