Spicer's Winterfest Ice Castle Finished
It took a little longer than normal, but the 2008 Spicer Winterfest Ice Castle is finished.
Mike Lint of Wee Kut Ice Company of New London says they were slowed by a couple things. The ice thickness varied from 17 to 24 inches so some blocks had to be shaved to match. And warm weekend weather caused a back wall to topple so it had to be rebuilt.
Lint says the blocks were bigger than normal and harder to manipulate, but Willmar Crane Service helped out with the construction, which took about two weeks. Read more

Dogs Disappearing, Investigators Are Suspicious
“We're not sure if somebody ... driving by picked her up, or if she got in a trap. There are a lot of trappers out here”
Dogs are disappearing and investigators are suspicious.
There have been seven reports of missing dogs so far in Kandiyohi County, about two hours west of the Twin Cities.
The latest case happened just last Sunday.
Investigators with the County Sheriff's Office are sure there are more cases that people have not reported.
Almost all the missing dogs are labs, and they've disappeared during the day. The Jakobson's family dog is one of them.
They call their yellow lab, Tilly. She's 1-and-a-half-years-old. Read more
