First the village is going to rebate some of my tax bill and now school fees cut as well. Im rich bitch.

Where did you hear they are going to cut the school fees? Is this happening this year? Are we getting reimbursed if we paid them in full already?

Martino gets in - school fees may go down-- really this isn't rocket science. Martino DOES Rock! This district has been scamming $$ for too long. By the way the regis alone in this District is more than double most of the surrounding districts and that includes Naperville! Huang can buy himself a new calculator and Kathy Miller can loosen or tighten her purse strings whatever she needs to do to make it happen.

He took over a district that was excelling and turned it on its ass. Watch this guy on tv or talk to him in person. For someone with a Dr. in front of his name really explains why the USA is failing miserably in the world for academics. As long as your willing to pay for overpriced tution and school fees they'll pass anyone.MONEY TALKS. I agree with you, Martino Rocks! However, his election will not bring down school fees. That takes a board majority and New Lenox fell one short last April. Maureen and Patrick have the majority on the Finance committee. They will bring their recommendations to the full board. It will be interesting to see if the majority follows the committee's ideas, or overrides them and swings with Miller. Don't count your fee savings yet...

Go to recovery.gov type in 60451. There is the truth on why we are getting the fees lowered. Obama is paying for it. Millions into general fund of 122.

Interesting how the school district failed to mention this to the New Lenox community and are trying to take credit for their brilliant idea to lower fees!

I just went to the site. OMG, what a waste. So you mean to tell Me that Obama and his cronies pass this huge American Recovery Act to produce jobs and the money is going to the general fund, not to hire teachers, but instead to cut fees????? How is that hiring jobs and now we are going to pay for this for years to come?
So I ask you this, What happens in the years to come when this Yahoo in Washington doesnt keep funneling money to the schools.
The School Board should be ashed of itself for shifting money around to use for the lowering of fees that was given to them by the Federal Government. Un Fricking Real.

B) You have to understand, ever since districts began over paying, over hiring and over spending (without financial conservatism).... FEES were needed to cover the gap. I said and still say, Zero Based Budgeting is required. Now that's change we can believe in!

Probaly becuase dumb ass parents like you spend their day blogging instead of TEACHING and helping their children with their studies, yep, just like the good old days. That is a classic example of an idiot. I am sorry but yes, you can continue to blame parents. But what is your role and responsibility as a teacher? If I work as an auto mechanic and Mrs. Jones drops off a car with an issue. Then she picks up the car and the issue is still there. In the real world, do you blame the mechanic or do you blame her for the way she is driving? Get a life. There is a reason why the Ever so Obama Loving teacher's union is in his pocket. Imagine if he actually makes them accountable?

A child with no parental support can be a rewarding challenge to a good teacher. Ask any teacher who has seen success shining in the eyes of one of these kids.

Parental support gives the lucky kids a leg up but the lack of it should not be used as an excuse for failure.

Martino isn't the only board member looking at the school fees so don't give him all of the credit. I would have more respect for him if he would have showed up to more of the candidate forums when he was running for office. But I guess you can win on name alone.

It worked for Miller, why not Martino? She missed a few forums also by the way. I think people find Martino's responsiveness to the concerns of the community refreshing. I know I do!

Yes, they got recovery money. They also raised the taxes on every home in New Lenox. If they lower the fees it will be because they are collecting the money another way. The budget inefficiencies continue...
