Revolving loans slow to catch for Brunswick

Brunswick County officials are surprised they've received only two applications so far for the first affordable house to be built under its new revolving loan program.
They're not sure yet just what that means, but it mirrors somewhat a less than enthusiastic response a Wilmington real estate agent and developer got for affordable homes he built in Navassa.
The numbers are surprising, given the publicity that the need for affordable and workforce housing has received throughout the coastal Carolinas in recent years. County staffs are working to try to figure out what needs to be done to fill what many leaders believe is a hole in a fast-moving marketplace. Read more
