Disaster relief approved for NC mountain towns
Gov. Pat McCrory has signed a disaster declaration for two North Carolina mountain communities hit by flash flooding in January.
Cherokee County man charged in 2012 slaying
Zachary Heath Golden, 18, of Ranger, was charged with second-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Billy Ray Arp, Cherokee County Sheriff Keith Lovin said in a news release.
