Mountain View- A mobile home was destroyed by fire Friday morning. The fire began at around 10:00 a.m. at a mobile home on 1756 Ponderosa Road.

Oct. 13--Two weeks ago, after responding to an automobile accident on Interstate 95, 66-year-old Sidney Stevens got behind the wheel of his Mountain View fire engine and headed back to the station.

HICKORY Law enforcement officials are searching for a hit and run suspect who ran down a Lenoir man on U.S. 321 killing him early this morning.

Lutheran Services for the Aging has announced plans to relocate Lutheran Home-Hickory West, its 120-bed nursing home on 10th Street in Hickory, to a new location in Catawba County.
