Fire chief wants quicker dispatches
Often one of the last companies to be called on in an emergency occurring only a mile or two down the road from their station, members of the Richfield Fire Company approached the Snyder County commissioners on Tuesday to express their frustration with what they believe to be inefficient dispatch practices at the county 911 center.
Fire destroyed a Richfield barn and its contents Monday. No one was hurt in the 7:25 a.m. blaze at 314 Main St., according to Kevin Gearhart, assistant chief of the Richfield Fire Company.
Richfield area mobile home destroyed by fire
A fire destroyed a mobile home and a small house Tuesday west of Ridge Road off Heister Valley Road in Richfield.

A convicted arsonist serving time in the Snyder County Jail who admitted punching another inmate has been sentenced to state prison.
