Surf eases up -- a little-- after 3 drownings in NJ
Swimmers were allowed back into the water along parts of the New Jersey shore Monday, following a deadly weekend blamed on rip currents related to Tropical Storm Bertha.

Figures. Pennsylvanians swimming in the ocean, & then they drown. One reason why seeing mountains all the time isn't such a wonderful thing. If they want to come into NJ they need to learn how to swim first.

you are a heartless piece of shit |

It is apparent "Figures" knows ZERO about rip currents. He would have likely died too.. There is nop fighting them..
You just have to ride them out and tread water till you are free of them. People panic and then get tired fighting the current and that's why they drown. "Figures" talks a good line but in the event it happened to him he wouldn't do any better.

I was at Sandy Hook yesterday and The currents were really bad there as well. The waves were 4-6 ft and water as low as your ankles was dragging people into the water. It was crazy.

Why, because I state the obvious? Hey may they rest in peace, it is unfortunate & there are at least 2 families right now whom are grieving deeply BUT, you guys harp on those from NJ & NY all the time yet during the summer where are half of ya? Who has the nearest beaches? New Jersey. So they're all garbage except in the summer when the farmboys want to take a dip. |

I know all about rip currents. Unlike the Pennsylvanian mountain boys I grew up in NJ at the beach 24/7 & we all knew NEVER to go that far out & to always listen to the lifeguards & to park your blanket near a lifeguard. They'll tell you how far is too far to go out & it's not at ALL uncommon for some dolt to go beyond where they tell you to go & that's when you have near drownings or drownings. Yes you can be caught in the current close to shore but you have less of a chance drowning when it's that close. Whenever we heard of something like this happening it was when some idiot (usually from out of state where they have no beaches) knows nothing about swimming at the ocean. |

Hey figures have you ever tried anger management. Or penis envy therapy.

Hey, just because I'm from PA doesn't mean I don't have enough sense to listen to the lifeguards! I was brought up to love and RESPECT the water. I'm just hoping that my dear daughter at Wildwood with her friend's family is heeding the admonishments from her doctor & her mother to stay out of the water with her pulled ligament/fractured thumb, since there was no way even with normal currents she could keep her hand splint dry & her hand immobile. I'm thinking that her friend's mother is a sensible woman, so maybe the injury won't be crimping the girls' fun... the rip currents could be keeping them all out. |

I'm not angry about anything & I don't have penis envy. Why are you angry? |

Obviously you have never been caught in a rip current or had a near death experience. I have
survived cancer, lupus, and car accidents and this life long ocean swimmer nearly drowned in Cape Hatteras this week in a rip current. I jumped out of an airplane in October and that thought was a risk until being caught in a rip current while having a leisurely swim on vacation almost cut short my blessed life. My sister would have watched me drown doing something I've done and loved my entire life. Maybe you could muster some sympathy for those grieving families since you obviously have none for the victims. |

I've been in a near death experience JoEllen, I was in a bad car accident many years ago that iunvolved the jaws of life in order to cut us out of the car, so please don't preach to me about death. Part of my family was wiped out from cancer. Take your lecture elsewhere. |
