That poor baby. I came upon the accident shortly after it happened. Highway 62 & Big Morongo Canyon Road. There were several people out and running around the accident site, giving aid and talking on their cell phones, I am assuming they were calling 911 as there were no emergency vehicles present. I pulled over for a moment to collect myself. Then I drove on. I was nearly to the top of the Yucca Grade when the first CHP came flying down - I was past the 7-11 on Cherokee before we saw the first ambulance!( now, mind you, I was driving slower than the speed limit, because I was pretty shook up) Then I saw the first Fire Truck by the time I was nearing the Food 4 Less shopping center. Maybe there were Morongo Emergency Responders already at the scene, but if not; well, I can't understand why it took Yucca Valley so long to respond.
