Uncle, girlfriend arrested in connection with death of 2-year-old girl killed by hit-and-run driver

Beyond question, this is a tragedy. Unless the uncle and his girlfriend were intoxicated on alcohol or drugs, an arrest seems extreme. LIving with this child's death could be the ultimate punishment for their lives - not to mention living with the parents' knowledge of the part the uncle played in their baby's death.
As a toddler,|, too, wandered away from our home. My mother said I had been napping, awoke and walked out the front of the house, loosing my diaper along the way. Fortunately, a neighbor found me toddling naked down the sidewalk and returned me to my mother, who was in the kitchen with my brother and sister. Negligence? I don't think so; however, my mother told me my father put additional hooks on all the screen doors - far above the reach of a child.
My prayers go out to the entire family of little Breonna.

this person that killed this baby and did not stop to help her is a dirty dog of the worst kind and i sure hope someone turns them in.they need to be brought to some real justice.god bless the child and her family.and the people who neglected to care for the child properly should be locked up.

I agree with Judith, this is a tragedy, but unless they were under the influence this just sounds like a horrible accident. The police need to focus on finding the driver that struck and killed this poor baby.

not one person noticed a baby walking down the street by herself?!!!!! She walked 3/4 of a mile! we need to slow down and wake up to what's going on around us.

may god help this family through this tragic time. breonna little angel, you are safe with the lord now. he needed to take you back because you are too special to be treated w/ neglect. he wont allow it. we will see you in the new world baby girl!
