North Carolina Association of County Veterans Service Officers award scholarship
Sarah Karetha Parks of Morganton has been awarded the North Carolina Association of County Veterans Service Officers Memorial Scholarship.
The 6th annual Red, White and Bluegrass Festival kicked off Wednesday at its new home, Catawba Meadows Park,701 Sanford Drive in Morganton, right along the Catawba River Greenway.

"This is the sixth year for the Red, White and Bluegrass Festival. Actually, the City of Morganton has been doing a fireworks show and a July 4th celebration for many years along with the Parks and Recreation Department.
