According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 111 complaints and reports the following arrests: Gregory I. Johnson, 54, 505 Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 12, 2014 at 8:12 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle without properly lit lamps for conditions and operating a vehicle not covered by insurance. Johnson turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.

Vale, Cosco to Cooperate on Iron Ore Shipping

Brazilian miner Vale SA reached a deal with China Ocean Shipping Co for transporting iron ore, a move that could help the Brazilian miner resolve a costly two-year ban on docking its mega-ships at Chinese ports. Vale said in a statement that it would transfer ownership of four very large iron ore carriers of 400,000 deadweight tons to Cosco.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office deputies on Friday booked Kevin Briscoe on 29 counts of possessing and one count of distributing online pornography involving children, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell said in a news release Monday. A 19-year-old Morgan City man was booked early Sunday on one count of attempted murder after a fight that sent another man to a hospital with a stab wound, officials said. Jair Razo admitted to stabbing the victim in the stomach after the two got into a fight, Morgan City Police Capt.
