Berwick man arrested for multiple traffic offenses
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrest: -Edwin Burke Jr., 40, of Pacific Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday on warrants for failure to appear for multiple traffic related offenses including driving while intoxicated, careless operation of a vehicle, and driving under suspension.

The power outages in Morgan City and Amelia Wednesday morning were not directly related to the storms that swept through the area.

A tree collapsed and fell into a residence on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia during Wednesday's storm.

Power Outage -- Storm, possible twister follows outage
A power outage struck the Morgan City area at about 10:40 a.m. and lasted until about 12:20 p.m. after a fault in an Entergy power line caused the feed to Cleco's Bayou Ramos substation to go out, according to a Cleco spokesperson.

Housing authority audit details aren't released
A document naming administrative office workers given tens of thousands of dollars in bonuses, of which more than $93,000 exceeded what is allowed under civil service regulations, was presented to Morgan City Housing Authority board of commissioners during a special meeting Monday.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests: Drew Baugher, 23, of Rizzo Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of schedule III , possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Morgan City man killed; Another man sought
A man was pronounced dead after he was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head around 11 p.m. Monday, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said in a news release from Morgan City Police today.
