Bid approved for new replacement bridge on Greentop Road
The bridge project on Greentop Road at the CSX railroad crossing is a "go." The project -- which will replace a structurally deficient bridge over the CSX Railroad two miles northeast of Newnan off U.S. 29 -- will result in the construction of a new 170-foot x 40-foot concrete bridge over the railroad at the existing bridge site.

There's talk of a future need for an air traffic control tower
The traffic at Newnan-Coweta Airport off U.S. Highway 29 south near Moreland has grown so quickly that now, for the first time, members of the Coweta Airport Authority are giving some preliminary consideration to construction of an air traffic control tower.
