I have lived in town for a few years and have not heard the "noises" yet. Has anyone heard them recently and what do they sound like? Are they loud, meaning, can you hear them for miles?

My theory is that 'modern' noises such as planes, cars, etc, intrude on us so much that if we did hear them we would assume it was one of those. Old reports say the noises sound like a train going through. With so much modern noise, how would we tell the difference?
I'm in Moodus-why do my posts say I'm in Meriden? A mystery.

You can hear them, I live right by where they supposedly emanate from and it is usually like loud explosions one after the other. One of the three times I heard them it was a low rumble that goes on for a while. (All these noises are in an odd location for them to be man-made and they coincided with USGS reported mini-quakes)

Val your posts say you are in Meriden because your Internet Service Provider is located there, and uses it's location in place of yours on your IP address. This is a security feature to prevent a hacker from finding your location with your IP #. Hope this cleared things up.

What part of town do they emanate from? It's such a small town we are probably neighbors!

I have lived in Moodus for 12 years and when we first moved in we heard the "noises" every morning around 9 for a while. it was like a train coming through, steady rumbling. It was under ground for sure, but didn't shake my barn or home.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Scorpio

You jump at the chance of some harmless escapism today, and it will do you good provided that you're ready to return to reality again tomorrow. Nevertheless, you shouldn't make any important emotional or financial decisions right now because you may not be viewing the situation in its true light and could easily be influenced by wishful thinking or unrealistic ideals.
