City Council $300,000 moved from MUC to general fund

An amendment to next year's city budget will basically move $300,000 from the Monticello Utility Commission to the city's general fund, and much of that has been earmarked for the purchase of a new fire truck.

Its called State Building Codes dumbass. Its the same reason school buildings all over the state and courthouses cost $150 to $250 per square foot
may not be right but nothing park or city or county can do about it the way it has to be built

Plumber, can you explain State Building Codes?

I don't think they will pocket the money, I am just having a hard time imagining this much money being invested in a bathroom for Monticello/Wayne County Park. I'm not saying we don't need another bathroom because we do...it's just hard to imagine a bathroom costing this much but then again, it was hard to imagine gas @$4 a gallon (and rising)!!
