Starbucks are fine but now maybe alot of the no-name coffee houses can make a comeback.

Starbuck`s bathrooms in the "hood" have no graffiti. This is because cholos dont like espresso.

it's about time the starbucks chain has collapsed. there's way too many starbucks around. until now they were even starbucks in the ghettos of america. it's just a fancy hangout spot for college students and sell crappy coffee. i would want a store that would sell healthy food instead of coffee all day.

that's interesting, seems that bathrooms always have tagging on them. I've even seen that shit on the toilet seats, my thought was "everyone can now shit on the gangs tag".

it's pretty damned expensive to close all those locations, they should ride it out. Breaking 600 leases alone will cost millions, the big boys like SB lease for the long term. Then there's the added expense of deinstalling all the equipment, furniture, fixtures and things like phone lines, T1 circuits with service contracts... maybe those locations were loosing way too much money to make it work.

Those people who work in the finance department must have seen no other choice.

this is a good opportunity for mom and pop coffee shops to try and get some of the nicer spots and hopefully succeed.

I know this will probably seem un-American, but I prefer the Asian mom and pop donut shops for my coffee. I frequent ones in Norwalk, La Mirada and East Los Angeles (near home and work) and their coffee always seems to be fresh and their greetings aren't painted on corporate, they're sincere. Don't get me wrong, once in a while I like something other than regular coffee, but lately I would prefer a (mom and pop's shop) good cup of coffee, larger than a large buck's size, less than the cost of a small buck's size and take the money I would've spent on a buck's drink and buy a gallon of gas instead...sign of the times, huh?

Starbucks customers are hurting and same store sales were falling at the locations being closed. There coffee costs so much, you need a second mortgage to afford it.

Small business is what has made the United States such a great place. I'd say it's more amreican to support local business than ANY ultra mega corporation.

Mom and Pop's coffee shops will not do as well.
They will flop. Consumers will continue going to Starbuck's or the Coffee Bean.

This is a sure sign of a recession. I have never become that enamored with the place but I offer my condolences to those that have become enamored with it.

It's not racist at all. Quit the racist platitudes dude. Everyone knows that mexican baldies tag everything they can either squeeze into or fit into.

Bro, I've see more Starbuck's bathrooms tagged by these vermin than you have. Starbuck's will just pack up their business and go to more civilized neighborhoods - that's all.

I mean Come on, Did you ever wonder how much money a business owner need's to spend cleaning up this crap - walls, counter top's, cabinets, mirrors, toilet seat's.

LOL...

Hello, yes, I am upset about that too. I love Starbuck's. I have been a Starbuck's customer for about 10 years.

I have never been in a tagged Starbucks bathroom. And if they ever get tagged, they probably clean it up right away. I'd rather make a deposit in a Starbucks restroom any day than have to use one in Walmart or Target and that my friends is the honest truth! All those damn employees in those stores and they can't keep clean restrooms! GROSS!!!!

You want a better cup of coffee without all the upward mobile yuppie sizes, and yaba daba doo flavors. Then get your behinds on over to your local Ralph's market. Each Ralph's has a java shop tucked inside called The Coffee Bean & Tea
Leaf Company. Its better and cheaper than Starbucks. I recommend a "White Chocolat Dream
Latte with an extra shot of espresso". Keeps you buzzed the whole day long. Note: not recommended after 2;00 pm.
