Full story: San Gabriel Valley Tribune

Quintero????

Vision??? If by vision you mean him visualizing himself in a higher office by using El Monte as a stepping stone, then yes, he probably has alot of vision.

P.S. If he becomes Mayor does that mean El Monte will become at risk of losing its accreditation too just like Rio Hondo College has under Slick Andre's tenure.

Quintero is an opportunist. Where in the hell has that guy been?

He was and has always been a puppet for the police department.

Wondering if the POA is endorsing him or not.

Well, I guess he has a tough job at beating the town drunk as his main opposition.

Last I heard, the only reason he was not running for the college board was because he no longer lives in "area".

Tribune, can you verify if in fact he is even a resident of El Monte.

If Andre can run the city of El Monte the way he has run Rio Hondo College, you can bet that
El Monte will be worse off than it already is.

He can't even get his act together on the college board. They are really in danger of losing their accreditation.

Rio Hondo College staff took a NO-CONFIDENCE VOTE in the entire board.

Someone tell this clown to get his own crap in order before he starts blowing more manure out of his mouth with promises of turning our city around.

Just another politician looking for a pay check and a stepping stone.

Buzz around our business community is that
Mr. Quintero does not live here.

I'm sicken by this individual who is going around town telling people he is a resident and will change our city for the best.

It is true that the POA is supporting him.

I just hope our fire-fighters do not engage in the same unethical practices that the POA has used in the past to support Andre "the puppet" Quintero.

I really do not know how the police are going to cover this one up, when in fact he does not live in our city.

Wake up residents. When this wanna-b smooth talker comes to your home, ask him where he really lives and to explain the pictures of his real home!

P.S. Tribune, I hope your investigative reporting does their job of exposing Andre Quintero.

Could this be why he is leaving the Rio HOndo board....because in November they might lose their accreditation?

May be should call him:

"Andre QUIT-ero" instead

Wow Quintero! I will vote for anyone that is not Emily, Ernie, Pat, Art and Jay. These moron thieves have destroyed our this city. The city desperately needs new leadership. Hopefully the new council will give the stupid City Manager Jim, Assistant City Manager Dante and other lazy fat cats such as Veronica,
Alexandra, Eugene and other the BOOT!!

Dave Siegerest - he is giving you a new seat (the one you lost to him) so stop winning.

Actually, Quintero is most likely what you'd call SAME OLD SAME OLD with new WRAPPING.

LOOK. What has truly destroyed the City....10 years of a City Council majority BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE POA.

Every couple of years the POA brings in someone "New" to make Joe Citizen think they're getting something new.....REALITY CHECK...THERE NOT.

Was Ernie (backed by the POA) a change from Rachel (also backed by the POA a few years earlier?

Was Emily (backed by the POA) a change from Ernie...

NOW,,,,because of a a littel high priced polling with buzz words like "NEW" and "YOUNG"...the POA thinks they can FOOL THE VOTERS AGAIN with Slick Andy Quintero.

DON'T BUY IT FOLKS.

NICE SHINY NEW WRAPPER......SAME STALE OLD PRODUCT.

EL MONTE CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

Oh, come off it!

Siegrist (spelled correctly, by the way) did a great deal at Rio Hondo during his eight years there:

1. Siegrisdt, along with the boartd, founded the very successful Rio Hondo Foundation.

2. Siegrist fought for and brought a Rio Hondo College Center to El Monte (Former City Councilwoman Bonnie Jimenez called the center "The Jewel of El Monte.")(Andre Q. had it closed down.)

3. Siegrist fought for and brought about the Rio Hondo College Childcare Center.

4. Siegrist helped secure major funding for renovating the Science Department.

5. Siegrist was instrumental in opening Rio Hondo College's library on Fridays and Saturdays. Until he came along, it remained closed on those days.

6. Siegrist insisted and got non-credit and credit classes to El Monte. Children had music, Spanish, English, classes taught by Rio Hondo faculty.
(Andre had all of this cancelled.)

7. Siegrist, along with the other four trustees, brought the dynamic Jess Carreon in as President and together they changed the place and it was, thereafter, never again referred to as
"The college between the dead and the dump."

8. Siegrist was instrumental in the construction of the state-of-the-art Fire Academy in Santa Fe Springs.

And this is just a brief overview of what Siegrist did.

What did Andre do?

1. He, along with the other board members, received a Vote of No Confidence by the Rio Hondo College Faculty Association, the Rio HOndo College CSEA Classifed Union, and the Rio Hondo College's
Associated Student Body.

2. He, along with the rest of the board, achieved a first: "The threatened loss of Rio Hondo's accreditation by the accreditation team from the
Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
What a first!

3. A.Q. is now being accused publicly by several El Monte elected officials as having his residence outside of El Monte: to wit: Riverside, Redlands, Fontana--and other sites. It is illegal to serve on Rio Hondo College's Board unless you live in the district. It is illegal to vote here in El Monte if you don't live here.(It's a felony!)

4. A.Q. showed no interest in bringing classes to El Monte. That's why Pasadena City College now teachers Art and English at Arroyo.(Arroyo is well within Rio Hondo's area--and well outside PCC's.)

5. and...and...and...

A. Q. as mayor? No way!

A.Q. had his pop sue Siegrist over his ballot statement and LOST! His dad had to pay over $4,000 in attorney's fees to Siegrist's attorney, his son.

A.Q. and his boob attorney smirked at Siegrist when the hearing began and then walked out with their tailes between their legs like whipped/whooped dogs!

Andre's soulful statement, "The money? Oh, that's my dad's problem."

So much for family fidelity and loyalty to dear old pop.

Apparently litigiousness is the only thing in his blood.

Look at the role he played in the arrest of former Planning Commissioner Tom Biodrowski against whom charges were later dropped now prompting a suit by Biodrowski against the City.

Sounds like instead of being at the helm of leadership at Rio Hondo College Andre was busy:

1. Running for State Assembly

2. Pursuing pointless censure witchunts against colleages

3. Running tax campaings for the El Monte PD (remember Measure P)

4. Pressing charges against people opposed to Measure P which were later dropped.

NO WONDER IN THE SEVERAL YEARS HE'S BEEN IN OFFICE THE COLLEGE WENT TO POT.

"LEADERS" LIKE QUINTERO SEEM TO BE MORE BUSY POLISHING THEIR POLITICAL RESUMES THAN ACTUALLY LEADING.

DON'T ADD INSULT TO INJURY EL MONTE

VOTE NO ON QUINTERO (POA Puppet)

VOTE NO ON ERNIE (Retired POA Puppet)

THERE IS A BETTER CHOICE FOR MAYOR

Andre Quintero a "Leader?"

Old Q. can barely find his way out of a closet with the door missing.

At Rio Hondo College, he was/still is a "washout."

He told a religious leader at Nativity Church that he intended to be either the Pope or President.

In the end, he will be neither and will be
