Why run the Gold Line to Montclair? There's already metrolink service between Montclair and LA. It would make more sense to extend the Gold Line along the 210 to Highland and serve the foothill communities whose only option now is to sit in traffic on the 210. If public transit to ONT is so important, run a trolley from the Rancho Cucamonga station to the airport. The redundancy of a rail line to Montclair is another example of gov't at its worst.

This will get built to Claremont in 2075. By then, people will be commuting to Pasadena from Albuquerque.

Don't get me started. Extending the rail along the 210 makes the most sense from a usability standpoint. But they couldn't even keep the number of lanes consistent when they built the 210 (going from 4 to 3 at Campus and I think further down the way, adding built-in chokepoints and, hence, future freeway construction projects). Why they didn't leave room for rail right down the middle, well, that's southern California, land of the automobile. So yes, the extension, as proposed, will be pretty much useless to those living along the foothills.

No. Don't leave room in the middle of the freeway for rail. It provides no benefit. Rail should be at or near reasonable walking distance to destinations, not freeways (which itself is a detriment to development).

After yesterday's Metro decisions - it is very likely that the Gold Line will get to Azusa by 2013, Claremont 2017 and Ontario Airport by 2020. Remember, this is also called the Brain Train because stops will be biking or walking distances to about 10 colleges. This could open up opportunities to our students seeking higher education.

the metrolink serves la/ont except its on the wrong side. pretty sure if they build the gold line it will be built were metrolink currently serves it(for connection purposes ).on the southern section of the airport where there is no terminal anyway this airport is failing. traffic will eventually be taken by san bernardino aiport. lower landing fees

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
