Police stopped Linda Putnoy, 49, of Montauk on Sunday at 12:03 a.m. at Route 27 and Lincoln Road in Montauk and arrested her for DWI, a misdemeanor.

Terry was weighing books, and while chatting, we learned that he was president of the Montauk Observatory and, with David Larkin, of East Hampton, he had underwritten the purchase of the giant telescope now residing in Roosevelt County Park.
