PetSmart ready to open in Marketplace

Full story: Mokena Messenger

Despite the slugging economy, the Mokena Market Place is preparing to welcome one of it's anchor stores in the coming month as the national retailer PetSmart will open it's doors at the shopping center located at U.S. 30 and Wolf Road.

Yea it's so great to bring people to Mokena and then they see we don't have any other stores and go accross the street to Frankfort and spend their money. Great job

thats because mokena forced out any big box business that wanted to come to mokena, including walmart, meijers, home depot the list goes on and on. and they are so smart the gave away the corners of rt 30 and wolf to frankfort that has kohls etc on it and the corner of laporte and wolf that has home depot, dominicks etc. go mokena. now they want their employees to pay the price but taking pay cuts and paying huge insurance premiums good job mr downs and village boards

m municipal mismanagement
o opening soon, never really happens
k keep out big business
e empty strip malls
n nobody shops front street
a a lack of foresight equals financial distress

Yes, what's even better, I can't apply on their website for the Mokena store because it gives me errors when I select a position. And the store isn't open so I can't put in an app there either. -_-
