Nice to see these punks got caught. MAke them walk around the community with a sign Shaming them. They need to be embarassed and so does their family. It might make their parents a little more aware of what they are doing. Dumb Ass kids

Make them paint over their damage, while mommy and daddy are made to watch. Of course, daddy may have to have a guard fetch him from the county jail, but still, you can't beat quality time spent with the family!

Sorry, but sometimes observations are not just stereotypical. As a Mexican-American I can assure you that 95 percent of the spray painting you see is by Latinos. How do I know? Because if you look at what it says it is almost always identifying a person and their Latino gang or krew. Anybody who is savvy to what it means can tell that. They want us to know who they are, that's why they autograph it. Sometimes it's not just being stereotypical, it's just facing reality. I would rather than face reality than hide from it or try to deny it.

Yes, they were mexican. It isn't irrelevant. There are many blacks in our area, and asians and people from India but they are not doing the graffiti, at least not around here. In fact, they are mostly pretty decent. The style, the messages, are vintage mexican gang wannabes.

I witnessed a couple of them in the act about a month ago in our area and followed them home, then reported them to the Sheriff and to the graffiti hotline. Guess what, they may have gotten nothing more than a slap but there has been no incidents in the meantime. The sidewalks and walls have remained clean. Yes, I looked them straight in the eyes, and they were both mexicans. Nobody can turn a new neighborhood into a slum quicker.

It was probably your kids, or your illegal cousins. Blacks? Maybe in South Central but not here. Asians? Nah, not hardly. White people? Dream on. Who has been doing it for then last thirty years in these parts? Who turned Pomona into a gang infested ghetto? You need a clue.

That's the shame of it. The good latino people who came here earlier legally, and have made fine contributions and became good Americans are being smeared by the criminal element that has infiltrated into the area. It isn't fair to them, of course, because they don't cause the problems. I have old friends in East L.A. who are very down on illegals and would be the first to want them deported, and the gang elements here imprisoned. Not just the vandalism, but also the drugs and the gang violence. Most stereotypes are based on reality.
