Case of H1N1 in Minooka school confirmed
A confirmed case of H1N1 has hit Minooka Consolidated School District 201. In a note sent home to parents on Friday, Superintendent Al Gegenheimer said the district was alerting all parents in all district schools about the infection.
One case of H1N1 flu has been confirmed at Minooka Intermediate School. Superintendent Al Gegenheimer said parents of the child who became ill paid for the test themselves to confirm the diagnosis, but the child has not been hospitalized.
Morris woman arrested in Minooka for DUI
MINOOKA police arrested a Morris woman for DUI about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Kimberly Schaefer, 52, 842 Edgewater, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage on Ridge Road near U.S. 6. Minooka police reported Schaefer was stopped for improper lane usage, and officers determined she appeared intoxicated.
