I'm curious to know whether you correctly understood Ms Brenzeviche's reason for moving to the United States.
You say she came here from Latvia for political reasons.
Could it be that she does not speak latvian and like many ethnic russians and their families refuse to do so.
She is one lucky girl to have relatives here.
I came here in 1949, did not know one word of english but it did not take me that long to pick it up. "Fours Years"?????.
At least thats one less in Latvia who refuse to learn the official language and truly believe that it should be russian.
Wouldn't it be something if the United States allowed spanish as an official second language?
