A traveling exhibit featuring the first wild wolverine confirmed in the state since the 1800s has been making its way around the state since last year.

Hundreds of dogs and their handlers took over the Suburban Collection Showplace on Saturday as the Michigan Winter Dog Classic continues throughout the weekend.

A book signing has been scheduled at a Burton shopping center during the most recent stop for the 'lone' wolverine tour making its way around the state.

Until the Thumb wolverine showed up around 2005, nobody had seen a live wolverine in Michigan's wilds for hundreds of years, except for the University of Michigan or Atherton High School mascots.
