Several schools have closed Wednesday due to the winter storm. Bayard, Banner County, Morrill, Kimball, Lake Minatare, Hemingford, Kimball, WNCC's Alliance campus and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing are all closed Wednesday.

The Heartland Expressway is running into additional funding issues. Yesterday, the Heartland Expressway Commission met with the Federal Highway Administration in Gering.
