State police at Rockview are investigating a burglary at the Uni-Mart in Milesburg that they say occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 2:20 a.m. today.

Heavy rains that started Tuesday night swamped roads and basements in Centre County and prompted a boil water advisory on the University Park campus, but those dealing with the flooding said it wasn't the worst they've seen.
'Basically we got off lucky with this one,' said Doug Young, chief of the Gregg Township Fire Company.
He and other volunteers were getting ready to take a break midmorning Wednesday after a long night that started at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

BELLEFONTE -- Police say a Milesburg woman took advantage of a mistake in which she received mail intended for a woman with the same name to steal $1,200 from her bank account.
Amanda Leigh Wilt, 28, of 307 Depot St., P.O. Box 87, Milesburg, on Wednesday waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
Police said Wilt received mail intended for Amanda Lee Wilt, of Bellefonte.
The two women are not related, and no information was available Wednesday on how the victim's mail came to be delivered to Amanda Leigh Wilt. Read more
