The worsening economy has caused many cities and townships to cut safety forces but Mifflin Township has been able to avoid layoffs among its safety forces this year.

Customers of Ohio American Water Co.: On Aug. 5, the News Journal published proposed new rate increases for the years 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2013 for users in Mifflin, Madison and Roseland areas.
