An Onslow County man was seriously injured in what authorities are calling an unprovoked assault early Monday in Emerald Isle.

An Onslow County man appeared in court on Tuesday, for allegedly using a belt to hit his 3-year-old son on the face and body.

Kamal Hakin Hasan, 27, of Butler Drive in Midway Park, was charged Thursday by the Jacksonville Police Department with felony possession of Schedule VI controlled substance, maintain vehicle for controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule VI controlled substance.
