A central Pennsylvania jury has acquitted three men charged in the fatal beating of a man during a party in July 1997, but the district attorney says the case remains "closed" and that nobody else will be charged.

The case against three men accused of killing another man nearly 16 years ago is expected to go to a jury in Snyder County Thursday morning.

Middleburg Police Department said it is investigating an attempted child abduction of a Midd-West Middle School student on Monday.

A pre-trial conference will be held in June in Northumberland County Courts in the case against a man who threatened his former girlfriend and claimed he would do "worse than what happened in Connecticut" at Priestley Elementary School near Northumberland last year.

It has been almost 16 years since Donald Seebold was killed in Snyder County, and Monday, the trial started for the three men accused of killing him.

On April 19, Patrick M. Oberlin, 53, of Middleburg, sustained injuries after negotiating a left curve on Wallis Run Road just east of Southard Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. Oberlin's vehicle struck a tree then rolled onto the passenger side, Trooper Adam Kirk said.
