A significant public push to encourage the state to build a new Batchellerville Bridge began Wednesday night, when Edinburg volunteer firefighters spoke to a crowd of about 100 about the bridge's new weight limit and how it could affect emergency responders.

The Batchellerville Bridge in Edinburg has been spanning Great Sacandaga Lake since 1930.

Saratoga Springs Police arrested two people in connection with a robbery at a west side residence on June 8. Jamall Sanchez, 33, or Saratoga Springs and Briana White, 22, of Middle Grove, were arrested for second degree burglary, according to a statement released by police Friday evening.
