Okay, I used to live in East St. Louis .I was feeling kind of down thinking back, to my childhood Christmas's there. And when I began to read the news reports on all of the violence I am not down anymore!I thank God for Jesus Christ saving me and bring me out of that war torn city.I grew up there and I forgot how it was when I left and nothing has changed .I still have family there and friends if they are still alive!I lived in Edgemont,Washington-Park, Centreville Park-side,South-end,one of my favorite places to get ice cream was Pirtle's on 25th and Ridge, and Scotia's had the best fried shrimp in the midwest .And if you wanted to go out to a club The Livin-room on 73rd and lakedrive was the spot! But then as I began to look around death was every where! rats roaches gangs and let's not even go there about the crack. We need to fall on our face and ask God to send a Holy-Ghost revival to your city it is not to late ,as long as we have life we can pray and ask God to save lives in East St. Louis and He will.It is almost Christmas day and it is time for a miracle to come for your city. What are the two greatest gifts God gave us besides His Son Jesus Christ. It says in His word love and life.I know there are some prayer and praise warriors there in your city so lets pray! Gods word also says where two or three are gathered in His name that He is in the midst. His word also says every knee shall bow every tongue will confess Jesus is Lord all to the Glory of God The Father. So lets touch and agree okay!Don't you all think enough is enough?!!!!

Daughter of Zion: I am with you, thank the Lord that I got out. ESL was a great place and still cold be but it is the people, not the place, that is at fault. I lived in Edgemont too but got out to save my sanity. Something was stolen all the time, house burglarized several times and I was even robbed at knife point in my own driveway. Many of the people there have a mental illness of wrongdoing, a total lack of integrity. But I am sorry to say the people of ESL requires much more than religion to help them; they need integrity and that is something they just don't want to earn.
