MEDLEY: Motorcyclists invited to ride for pets
Miami-Dade Animal Services Department is inviting motorcycle enthusiasts to its Cruise for Critters police-escorted ride on April 6. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the shelter located at 7401 NW 74th St., Medley.
The event is designed to give residents an opportunity to support shelter pets, adopt animals and also have fun.
The ride will start from the shelter and end at Scotty's Landing, 3381 Pan American Dr., Coconut Grove. The registration fee is $20 per motorcycle.
Donations of dog and/or cat rubber toys will be accepted at the door. Read more

MEDLEY: County shelter seeks homes for dogs, cats
Miami-Dade Animal Services Department will hold its third annual 'Open Your Heart and Your Home' Valentine's Pet Adoption drive from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at its animal shelter, 7401 NW 74th St., Medley.
Residents will be able to adopt dogs and cats in need of a loving home. They must be at least 18 and have proof of home ownership or notarized proof that their landlord allows pets, such as a lease agreement or notarized letter.
Adoption fees apply, including a $50 refundable deposit if the pet is not yet spayed or neutered. Read more
